Witness (detail)

This upcycled and digitally printed plate features an archive image of the envelope containing the 'dead man's penny', the commemorative plaque issued to the families of soldiers killed in the First World War. The silhouette of a British soldier has been removed, part of an ongoing 'alphabet of absence'.
