Let Them Eat Cake
With Level 6 Fine Art & Curating and Art History & Curating students
The project was developed in collaboration with ‘A Modest Show’, Manchester’s satellite programme of art events running in conjunction with The British Art Show 9. It was presented in AbstractKab, a mobile gallery and performance space by Division of Labour, crafted by artists Yelena Popova and Gavin Wade.
In direct response to ‘A Modest Show’ and their brief of ‘Eating Manchester Artists’, the students chose to work alongside themes of food and control. Exhibiting artists included Olivia Leake, Meg Jones, Alyssa Timponaro and Gavin Wade.
‘LET THEM EAT CAKE’ was co-curated by students Madeline Cray, Birce Cennetoglu, Clare Davidson, Harriet Hibberd, Charlie Linton, Zahra Mascolo, Anastasia Morozova, Holly B McLenahan and Hannah Smiles.
