Pagination: | pp. 61-72 |
This chapter explores collaboration in construction on-site production and the role of the Last Planner System (LPS) in establishing a systematic approach to enhance collaboration. Construction projects involve complex, interdependent relationships among actors, making collaboration crucial to address challenges arising from uncertainty and variations. Collaboration becomes essential when multiple parties rely on each other's contributions for good production flow. Coordination plays a vital role in collaborative environments where resources, time, and access are shared. The chapter outlines a model with six dimensions of collaboration and explores their interdependencies, highlighting the importance of personal and relational aspects alongside the structural and systematic aspects of construction on-site production. Collaboration can be managed and fostered through approaches like the LPS for successful project outcomes.
