Reducing Rural Social Isolation and loneliness: Lessons from Community Pubs in the UK

This paper discusses the growth of Community Pubs in remote rural regions of the UK against a backdrop of declining Pub businesses nationally. Neither community-led enterprise nor rurals pubs are new ideas but, a model has emerged in the UK that combines both. It has gained traction more recently as it became clear that the benefits reach beyond business and economics with the potential to bring communities together in difficult times.
