In Out on the Page's first print publication, LGBTQ+, twenty writers and artists explore the spirit of Modernism through a multiplicity of queer lenses. This wonderfully diverse selection of new writing, photography and visual poetry was selected from entries from across the UK and beyond. Many were inspired by Eddy Rhead's short course on Modernism which ran with Out on the Page in early 2021.
Out on the Page wanted this chapbook to be different, and in discussions with production collaborators, the modernist became interested in the optimism of Modernism, that sense of emerging from adversity to something better.
Out on the Page has worked with the modernist's highly regarded small press and the book designer Dan Jackson to produce a quality chapbook which we hope you will enjoy and be stimulated by holding, looking at, and reading these different takes on Modernism.
Out on the Page has been supporting LGBTQ+ writers across the UK and beyond since 2018, running groups, workshops, courses and retreats online and in-person. Supported by Arts Council England.
