'META-MORPH-OSIS' Shifting Perspectives On Death, Stillness And The Moving Image or How I Dreamt Of  Mrs Risley'

Output Type:Exhibition
Venue:Holden Gallery, MMU
Dates:13/10/2015

META-MORPH-OSIS was an installation based artwork that was the culmination of an 18 month period of creative practice responding to a 157 year old book of lepidochromy (printed butterfly wings) located in
the Sir Harry Page Collections in Special Collections, MMU. It focused on a variety of themes and tropes drawn from a parallel practice developed during
this experience. It formed a critical analysis of actions and behaviors of artists in the archive and the direct, overwhelming emotional influence the
materials can elicit through the act of touch. Materiality is essential to the practice of engagement.
