Bleakgrave in 0.918, Making a Mark: Informed by Ink

Output Type:Exhibition
Venue:Grosvenor Gallery, MMU, Manchester
Dates:15/6/2024 - 22/6/2024

Using a small-format Adana HS/1 press restored to function specifically for this research project, Bleakgrave in 0.918 is a proof of concept that demonstrates the limitations and possibilities of FDM printing in achieving colour-separated registration and type-high forme surfacing for transformative letterpress processes.
Conceptually, the broader scope of the Bleakgrave project counters the fast, high-tech world of digital games from perspectives of production and play - a Slow Fantasy world unique to every player identity, experienced frame-by-frame, through print-making modernised with rapid fabrication processes and driven by Procedural Content Generation systems (PCGs) used in digital and tabletop games.
