Arts for Health Archive (2010+)
Developing the Arts for Health Archive, rescued from decay in 2010 and housed at MIRIAD since 2011.
The aim is to establish ARTLINES as a core archive of the global arts and health movement, its parallels and precursors. It is envisaged that this archive will become:
- a catalyst for research and innovation in and across the domains of culture, wellbeing, medical history and environment;
- offering open access with the ability to retrieve information thematically, chronologically and by location;
- co-host of an online web of archival resources linking historical to contemporary knowledge connecting arts, science and wellbeing;
- a focus for engaging the public in activities to increase awareness of and engagement in arts, wellbeing and environment, via exhibitions, publications, media, community projects.
Additional collections have been added to the archive in 2013 in order to build a national archive that represents the breadth and depth of approaches in the arts and health field.
Discussions are in progress (2014) with a view to securing a permanent home for the archives, in a venue with the resources and commitment to fulfill the above aims.
