2014 Let In The Stars A New Collection of Children's Poetry Published July

A new Illustrated book of Children's Poetry 'Let in The Stars' published by MMU in July 2014.

Poems were selected by invited submissions from across the world and published via a collaboration between Manchester Writing School and Manchester School of Art, Illustration with Animation students. Under the direction and editorship of MMU Fellow Mandy Coe and with the support of Carol Anne Duffy Professor of Contemporary Poetry at MMU.

The project was coordinated at student level by Ian Whadcock and Iris Feint and involved students from first year and final years of the Illustration course, creating 38 original pieces of artwork with a cover redesigned and edited by Ian Whadcock based on an original 19th Century engraving.

The book was launched as part of the Manchester Children's Book Festival (MCBF) July 2014 at The Royal Exchange Theatre where the wining poem was announced.

Since the launch there have been a number of positive reviews and in April 2015 the book was shortlisted for the 2015 CLPE Children’s Poetry Award (CLiPPA).
