Rankings mark University’s commitment to student satisfaction, impactful research and world-class facilities

Manchester Metropolitan University is now in its highest ever position in the Complete University Guide (CUG) after a decade of climbing the respected league table.

The University has risen two places from the previous year and is ranked 54th in the CUG’s 2021 table, which measures universities against a range of criteria.

It marks a consistent climb in the rankings over recent years for Manchester Metropolitan, thanks to its commitment to high-quality teaching and enhancing the student experience, impactful research, and investment in modern facilities and buildings.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Malcolm Press said: “It is pleasing to see the University’s continued upward progress in league tables; we now occupy our highest ever position in the Complete University Guide, having risen 39 places in a decade.

“This demonstrates the benefit of having robust strategies and clear objectives, and also of working together to deliver the best possible outcomes for our students. This commitment to students has been clearly demonstrated in the huge amount of work we have done to respond to the challenges presented by Coronavirus.

“Despite the current situation, we continue to invest further in enhancing the student experience, developing our high-quality infrastructure and facilities, and growing our strong areas of research. I would like to thank everyone who has helped to move us ahead and look forward to further progress over the years to come.”

The University has continued to rise to the challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic.

This includes rapidly adapting teaching and assessments to online delivery to ensure continued quality for students. While across the University, staff and students answered the call to fight the virus: donating and 3D printing vital PPE, working on the frontline in the NHS, providing invaluable guidance to SMEs, and supporting partners to shape business and the public sector’s post-pandemic plans.
