10 July 2014

Paul Smith among visitors to Alwaysallwaysland

THE Manchester School of Art Show event in London has attracted some big-name visitors – including top fashion designer Paul Smith.

Students from across the school had the chance to show off their work on the capital’s legendary Carnaby Street when the degree show went down South for Alwaysallwaysland London.

Marcus Lord, External Liaison Manager for the Manchester School of Art said: “It was really good – there was a lot of interest and it was great for the students to get that professional experience away from the University.

“A lot of students want to be freelance creative professionals when they graduate, so it’s good to give them this sort of chance.”

Great showcase

The show was also visited by a number of graphic design companies, as well as famous Manchester School of Art alumnus Malcolm Garrett and members of the Design Council.

Thousands of visitors pass down Carnaby Street every day, making the event the perfect showcase for students from Fashion, Graphic Design, Illustration with Animation, Interior Design, Textiles in Practice and Three Dimensional Design.

The event will run until Sunday. For more information, visit http://www.art.mmu.ac.uk/events/2014/alwaysallwaysland-london/
