Students in August premieres at Royal Exchange
ACTING students will perform two plays premiered at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre in August.
In a collaboration between Manchester School of Theatre and the UK’s largest round-style theatre, ten 2011 graduates from the BA (Hons) Acting degree course will be the sole performers in a double bill running from 3 – 6 August.
Single Sex by Rory Mullarkey is the story of grammar school boy Greg - played by Sam Lupton - for whom life revolves around Latin class, rugby practice and his friend Jamie. When Sophie finally agrees to go out with him, something changes and suddenly sex is all he can think about.
Galka Motalka by Natal’ia Vorozhbit follows the fate of Eastern European athlete, the new girl at Olympic training camp. Galka - played by Susie Potter - soon learns that athletes are different from ordinary school kids and they will do anything to get ahead.
The Man Met Exchange actors are: Rachel Caffrey, Max Calandrew, Kayleigh Hobson, Katrina Innes, Luke Jerdy, Kevin Lennox, Sam Lupton, Cliff Myatt, Ian Pink and Susie Potter.
