Liminal
MA/MFA Performance Major Project Showcase
Manchester School of Theatre (MST) invites you to experience three evenings of cutting-edge performance practice from our MA/MFA Performance students – class of 2024!
Showing their expertise in the fields of contemporary performance, laboratory theatre, dance and performance art, Liminal will premiere original work from the theatre makers of the future, while marking the end of their MA journey.
Join us in Grosvenor East’s theatre spaces from Tuesday 17th – Thursday 19th September to watch a range of performances by MA/MFA Performance students. There will be several performances shown each night which you can attend by booking a free individual ticket. Please book a separate ticket for all the performances you wish to see each day.
Liminal Programme
The Beast of Mount Ükhel

The story of one boys quest to honour and avenge his war hero father by climbing up Mount Ükhel and killing the Beast.

The Metropolitan City of Àbíkú

Venue: Holden Gallery
Exploring the intertwined relationships between urbanism, nature and communal identities, drawing parallels between experiences in Lagos, Nigeria, and Manchester, UK as reference points. It provokes the thought that the birth of urbanisation is a threat to nature, and the death of nature is a threat to urbanisation.
Trigger warnings: May trigger thoughts of death and violence.
