Playdates: May Wild Relief Casting with Jesmonite
10am—1pm
Design and create your very own sculptural artwork inspired by the architectural landscapes we live in with May Wild Studio. Using our bespoke casting techniques with Jesmonite ‘the ultimate chameleon material used in the building and creative industries’, you will be guided through creating a concrete relief artwork through collage, collagraph and clay mould making/ casting techniques.
In this workshop you will explore ideas based on the architectural elements of the buildings that surround us through the making of a collage design that will be developed into a relief using the collagraph print process. You will then translate your relief design into sculptural form using mould making and casting techniques used in the craft industry.
During this workshop we will also show you how May Wild Studio use Jesmonite to make our work and give an insightful presentation of how we have developed our creative practice so far.
Finally, You will present your personalised artwork to share and take home through a series of practical demonstrations of making/finishing techniques and we will share tips on creating a individual/group mosaic composition by photographing and sharing your artwork successfully through social media platforms.
