Ben Spiller
Ben Spiller is a director, dramaturg and producer. They are artistic director of 1623, a theatre company of marginalised people working for social justice with audiences, participants and Shakespeare. 1623 are based at QUAD in Derby as resident company. Recent projects include: A Winter's Tale and Tempest R&D with Graeae - as dramaturg, Romeo and Juliet with 1623 learning - as director, What We Feel with 1623 and D&O Productions - as dramaturg, workshops and readings of Much Ado About Nothing by Ranjit Bolt with 1623 and Play On - as director, Angelica R&D with 1623 - as dramaturg and producer, Summer Party, Autumn Bonfire and Winter Gathering with 1623 participation - as host/facilitator, Mulilo with 1623 and Circus Zambia, part of Headlong's Signal Fires Festival - as dramaturg and producer and Queer Lady M with 1623 - as director.
