Think Big! Take Graphic Design to the next level
A two-day workshop for 16-19 year olds
10am—5pm
An intensive 2-day workshop to design a new publication. The course will introduce semiotics, logo/identity design, concept development, layouts, framing images, typography and how to effectively present your idea.
This course will challenge participants, giving them a taste of degree-level design education whilst working under the guidance of a professional graphic designer. You will be introduced to the key skills of developing big conceptual ideas whilst working collaboratively towards a tight deadline.
You will gain skills in semiotics, layout design, working with typography, framing images and presenting your ideas. Joanna is a Freelance Graphic Designer and Artist, specialising in graphic design and art direction for music, moving image and 3-dimensional spaces. She has produced work for sound artists, publishing houses, as well as working with the Whitworth Art Gallery and the Manchester School of Art.
The workshop will run 10-5pm each day and is aimed at 16-19 year olds. It is ideal for students thinking of taking Graphic Design at Degree level, as well as those thinking of a career in the area who want to push their skills and take their design knowledge up a gear.
